How can you describe your dream house?

Mine is the castle of the "Mummy Returns", you know, like big stone castle with lots and lots of artifacts. You cannot see the white wall nor open space, just lots of boxes, ancient furnitures, and old books from all over the world. (Hint: Indiana Jones?)Some secret tunnels behind racks or fireplace, and huge rose windows with big center staircase.
I don't like some funky modern looking ones (hey, but I like the Real World Chicago house as well!)

So how does your dream house look like?

Well, it depends. My frivolous fantasy dream house would be a big, gothic type castle straight out of Dracula. It would be very dark and cavernous, with ornate wall sconces and candlelight, vaults and a dungeon. Upstairs there would be turrets and long winding corridors.....

Anyway my "practical" dream house, that we actually are planning to build, is a big stone and cedar two-story, not a colonial exactly...it isn't just a flat-front but has lots of peaks. It has 5 bedrooms, including a 1st-floor master suite with his-&-hers walk-in closets and a huge bath with a sunken jacuzzi tub and dual sinks/vanities. On the first floor there would also be a formal living room, formal dining room, a library/den with lots of built-in desks and cabinets/shelves, a sunken family room with 60" tv and a BOSE whole-house system, a gigantic skylit kitchen with eat-in area, a half bath, and a 1st floor laundry/mud room. We want a 4-car garage and a finished basement with rec room/bar, workout room and utility room. We want a big, multi-level deck with a hot tub and beyond, a fenced-in yard with an in-ground pool. On the second floor we want 4 bedrooms...one for our daughter with a walk-in closet and a private bath, one for our son with a big closet and another private bath, and then two more bedrooms for guests/any future children connected by another full bath. I want to take the time to decorate everything right....I want wallpaper and borders everywhere, I want ceramic tile in the kitchen and baths and pergo wood flooring all through the first floor with gorgeous throw rugs...
