Distressed and can't sleep!
Three of my close friends (including my roomate) left for Sacramento this weekend. I was going to go but I thought I had to work so I didn't. Anyway. Apparently while I was at work today, before they left, they took my favorite stuffed animal and stole/hid him. Ok I know this doesn't sound like a big deal but my puppy is my most prized possesion...I've even give up my computer before him! And I absolutely cannot sleep without him, I can't even remember my life before I had him and I want to cry because I'm so distressed. Please don't make fun...do you any of you have similiar items? He's my security blanket and they know how much he means to me! I'm so sad. Alright, enough whining, I just needed to get that off my chest. My roomate left her duck (stuffed duck who is the equivalent to my puppy) though, so if I don't find out where my puppy is soon I'm going to have to hold duck for ransom! I'm so tired!

Don't feel like you're going crazy. I can't sleep if I don't have my racoon around. I don't necessarily sleep with him at night, but if he's not in the same room, I don't sleep the whole night. I hope you find your puppy some time soon. As for the duck hostage thing.....hehehehehe.....welllllllllllllllllllllll lllll.....you know. ;)

My white teddy bear... the poor thing has been smushed and tossed around so many times, but it's a comfort factor. Some nights he is needed more than others. If he is not on my bed at night on an especially hard day or if I'm really nervous or tense, I have problems.

Wow I thought I was the only one! I have Wish Bear from the CareBears. My mom named him Mr. Bear. He's the same age as me, yet looks a bit older! He's got like no hair left on the top of his head, and the fur is, well, yeah. His patch is coming off too! My mom has sown him, watched, everything. He is still my all time fave! I don't bring him on vacation cuz I don't wana lose him! I duno what I'd do if I lost him. Then I have this big brown, furry Gund dog. He's so cute and fluffy and I sleep with him too. He goes under my covers and it always scares the crap outa my mom when I'm not home cuz she thinks it's me. I named him JT da Dawg after my exboyfriend/best friend!

My stuffed crocadile (sp?). When I was really little, my grandparents brought me to a Peter Pan on Ice show. They were selling stuffed animals there and one of them was a stuffed Tick-Tock (the crocadile that is always trying to eat Hook). I thought he was so cute so my grandparents bought him for me. He is all beat up but he is still one of my most prized possessions. Whenever I'm upset, I just hold him.

I have my bear Teddy. Teddy goes everywhere with me. If he doesn't come on vacation with us, I'll leave him with my grandmother to "bear-sit" if you will. I've had him since I was tiny - and he's the only thing that hasn't changed in my life. When I'm sad I just hold him. Poor thing is probably rotting on the inside from tears. :(

I too have a stuffed animal dog that I've had since I was six months old. He normally gets the boot when my b/f's over or he stays at home when I go away, but if I'm at home I need to know he's somewhere in or on my bed - that thing is like a real dog to me, one that wil last forever. I'd be so upset if my friends did that, even though I'm 23.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I tried to go to sleep last night but was so angry and distressed that I got back up and turned my room upside down hunting for him. I eventually found him suffocating under dirty clothes in my laundry basket. I was so excited I almost cried! He is seriously the first way I ever learned to comfort myself- I would chew on his ear when I was little and I needed to calm myself down. My friends called this morning from out of town to make fun of me for being so worried, and I just didn't talk to them because I was so irritated. He's the first thing I would ever save in a fire, you shouldn't hide something that important to someone!

When I was in school one of my good friends in the chapter had this ugly, old, horrible, rotting thing she called "Comfy." Comfy was originally a pillow, but she had owned him since her birth and by the time I met him some 20 years later, he was a stinking, discolored lumpy mess. I can't imagine wanting that thing close to me but she was maniacally attached to it.....could NOT sleep without it and would hug it and love it. We used to screw with her and pretend to take it (but none of us wanted to touch it!!!!)
I have a big furry animal I sleep with too......my husband!!!! And right now he is out of town, which means I CANNOT sleep. Last night was his first night away and I was up til 5.....tonight my daughter is already sleeping in my bed so I am hoping to turn in soon, maybe by 2. My dog also sleeps in my room, when it is cold she actually gets in the bed. I'm sure she's in there now since my little girl is.....she is very protective of the kids. |
ok....I'll admit it. I still have my teddy bear. I remember one time he was lost when i was like four i couldn't sleep forever. I had almost given up hope, and plundged into toddler depression when one day my mom picked me up from day care. the front door was open and I noticed a little tag sticking out from uner the seat. Was it?? yes it was!!! it was him, it was B. I. (pronounced bee eye) and i pulled it out and hugged and cried. He's waiting for me on my bed to come home from college.

Yep...can't sleep without my BaaBaa. He's one of the bigger versions of a Beanie Baby. He's a purple and gold lamb my mom gave me when I graduated high school. I've even gotten to where if I sense that he's not in the bed with me at night I will bolt out of bed and start looking for him. Before BaaBaa it was my doll that someone gave me while I was in the hospital with spinal meningitis at 2 years old.

I have my Doggy. My mom's best friend gave him to me the day I was born THIRTY THREE years ago, lol. I was born on her birthday.
I sleep w him every night, and travel with him--as I tried travelling w/o him and noticed, I'm SO used to having him w/in clutching distance that I don't sleep well without him. He reportedly used to be white and brown, now he is gray and earless. But I love him! My friends and family make so much fun of me, but so what! |
