Positive Greek Press - 48 Hours
I'm not sure if anyone else watched the 48 Hours Spring Break show tonight. Just in case you missed it, the very last segment showed students from Florida International University heading to New York City to volunteer for the Salvation Army to help at Ground Zero during their spring break. Although their Greek affiliations were not mentioned aloud, the vans that they drove in had TKE, DPhiE & GSS (I think) painted on the windows & one of the guys was wearing a TKE shirt.
To whomever they are, I just wanted to say how much I admired what they did!! It brought tears to my eyes and made me very proud to be part of the Greek community!! :) just my thoughts! - Jen AGD - DZ '97 |
Yes, i saw the show as well, and what those kids did at groud zero was great. They had such big hearts and ya, i saw the grrek letters shoe polished on the van as well....yeah!

I saw that, it was so cool to see DPhiE letters on the van! I also thought it was pretty good that there were no greek letters on the hard core partiers.

The kid who did the ride-along with the Fire Dept., is a Pike (Pi Kappa Alpha).

I saw Phi Sigma Sigma letters on a van.....thought it was Sigma for a second, but way a Phi in front of it.
Way to go greeks! |
I'm glad to see that greeks are getting some good press. So many non-greeks so not realize how much time and effort we put into the community. And I'm glad to see that we are getting some good press. UDZETA :D

I missed it. Oh well. Maybe they will rerun it during the summer. It is nice to learn that the media is covering the positive things college students are doing during Spring Break! :)
