TV show looking to film your event!
 

Get famous, fast. Alltrue Networks is producing a new tv show for TNN. We are looking for a fraternity or sorority event to include in our premier show. The event must take place before May 20.

Don't even think about doing this unless you are ABSOLUTLEY sure this is somebody who will tell the story in a fair way. Remember the threads on MTV.

The Greek System doesn't need more bad PR. It's hard enough to fight the stereotypes as it is.

For the love of badges, people DO NOT take this person up on their offer. NPC has never approved of anything like this before, I certainly know that Kappa would NEVER agree to this (can't speak for the groups of which I am not a member). Stay far away. Maybe this offer is legit and will present Greeks in a good light, but honestly, how often has that been done? I don't think so. Please don't reply.

I give this a BIG fat NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! If they were looking for greeks they could have gone about it in a different way. I do not trust this person. We don't need to be famous fast. Who needs that when you have your brothers and sisters around! :p

Just a suggestion, but if this is truly legit, why don't you tell us exactly what kind of events you are looking to film, for what type of show, and just a by-the-by, have you tried contacting any national headquarters and asking them directly rather than the people who can't actually give permission one way or the other???

If you are truly serious about this, please provide more info on your intentions, how the groups are to be portrayed, what contracts you to give each group to prove that portrayal, and talk to NHQ's. I mean seriously, who do you think we are??

Oh, and by the way, poor planning on your part if you need it before May 20th and are resorting to message boards to get it in.

We're gonna try and do it. Sounds like some good publicity for the greek system here. Our event is during Greek Week here and no events can be wet during that week. We are also a dry house so it shouldn't be too bad of publicity. of course I will talk to the people and ask them some questions and work out a couple things. The thing is, we do not have anything to hide. There is nothing wrong with this. Why shouldn't we do it? I personally (and my brothers agree) that this is something the Greek System needs. Let me know if you have any feedback. I'm a very educated and rational person so please don't treat me like I have not thought of every possible outcome of this. Thanks.

Rather than ask us to give you feedback, I'd suggest you call your Fraternity Headquarters and ask them their opinion. I'm sure that they will let you know if they think it is a good idea.

I've been in broadcasting for over thirty years. I seriously doubt that you understand all of the possible ramifications of this. And, I suspect that you might be astounded what "creative" editing and storytelling can do to slant even the most innocent event.

I'm not going in half cocked. Since we have well known people playing our event we will ask their people about it. More than likely we can't even do it. However if we do, I will ask to see the tape before airing. Its a simple request. ther are lawyers for a reason. Thanks for your concern though. Our house has already been in the news once before. That didn't turn out so well. We have now rechartered. I'll leave it up to the advisor. However, a sponsored event usually doesn't turn out bad. Don't worry... everything is under control.
