High Kappa

I know there are some brothers who think their chapter does a good job of preparing Associates for Initiaion. Our Kappa program could use some work and I wanted to know if any of you would be willing to send me some of the things that you give to your AM's along with any activites you do to prepare them. IM at airpear53 if you'd be willing to send me anything.

Well I didn't win kappa but I'm the new Brother High Alumni's Bitch
aka HIGH RHO. Anybody have some inovative ideas to asist me in getting alumni to donate? Well other than knocking them out and taking their wallet...

I have no idea where you live, but try setting up an excursion to a professional sporting event. Make it an all-day thing. Have a formal banquet. Set up a website that allows them to insert their contact information. Send out a periodical newsletter with sparing updates on the chapter, and lots of material on alums (like "Where are they now" or a profile on a particular individual).

If you plan something, make sure you let them know 4-6 months ahead of time. This is strictly for the married guys with kids. In my experience, if you don't give them enough notice, they won't come. Period.

Make them feel like they're coming back to college for a weekend. Cater to both crowds - the young and still wild, and the older and established.

Bottom line: make it fun for them. If they see that you're trying to keep in touch, they may start to loosen up their wallets.

Jon, right on! I did that when I tried to pick up the number of Alums who, what, and where they are!

I have 200 e-m and started with 10. Well being # 1 helped as some I did not even know! Of course they new me! LOL!

Jon, e-m your e-m address, I think I lost it! I just got an web site and not sure if you have it! Will check it out and send to you when you let me know!

hoyotomas@aol.com!

Matt,

Hope U Memphis gets theirs up and running soo!!!!

High Rho is one of the most important Offices to be held if you have NO ALUM SUPPORT!

I restarted the Alum Golf Outing 4 years ago! It used to be huge as Guys would plan vacations around it!

When I re started it had 7. Last year we had 48.

This year we will have more!

If you can find a pocket of Brothers, see if you can get them to have Alum. Assoc. Old Brothers getting to gether for a monthly Beer and Bull Shit meeting! Talk Old times and ask about other Brothers!
Start an e-m list, put on your web site so if they read it you may get a response. I know it cost me a bunch to call Brothers and mny times it was the wrong phone # and Address. Crawl first and then run like hell!

If you get a few, then they will know where others of their age group are! It Aint done over night!

Does Naught Without Labor Sound Familiar?
