A Very Saddened Heart!

It is with a saddened heart to inform all of My GC Brothers and Sisters that My Favorite Southern Belle Mrs Ligon Passed away last night at 98 years young!:(

Many of you have known just a bit about this Grand Lady who was the Patroness of the Lambda Chi Alpha Chapter at Pittsburg State Univerity.

Her Husband was Initiated into the Fold of Our Brotherhood many years ago and they both became very dear to all of us.

She kept on taking very good care of her "BOYS" many years after Brother Ligon Passed.

While I did not think I could go, this Lady ment so much to me and Her Boys, I am closing the Store down Sat. so I can Pay my Last Respects to her! Please say a little Prayer for Mrs L. I know She will Appreciate it!

Aww....I'm so sorry Tom. :(

Saying goodbye to someone who put so much of herself into the lives of others must be difficult. I'll be thinking of you this weekend.

Tom - I think Mrs. L. wants us to say a little prayer for you -- she knows that you are a special brother, and will continue to keep on giving in your wonderful way while never forgetting what she and her husband have taught you and others.

May peace guide you and be with you and her family and friends during this time of rememberance.

Tom,

So sorry for your loss. She sounds like she was a truly amazing lady. Y'all were very lucky to have her for as long as you did! :)

Tom Earp 04-12-2002 04:48 PM

Thank you so much one and all!

I am closing my store Sat. So I can Pay my respects to this wonderful Lady.

I am driving down so I can be with Her this one last time.
I have the Honor of being one of Her Pall Bearers!

The reason I love GC now more than ever is because it gives me a break from Thinking about Her as when I do I cry as I am doing now!

Everyday I get E-M from a Brother whose life she touched! I found out today that a Brother came back from Viet Nam as a Marine who was really mess up as so many were and She Counseled Him and Brought hem back to reality! She just had that way about her!

She Helped many of Her Boys as She called us over lo these many years even when Her Husband Albert Passed away! She was a very major Part of Our Fraternity and desearves the Best not only in Life but in Death!

I know She will always be keeping a watch on Her Boys to make sure they do right!

Tom Earp 04-13-2002 05:33 PM

Thank You all so very much for your kind words!

Mrs. Mildred Ligon was laid to reast today with 50 + of Her Boys in attendence.

7 of us were Pall Bearers and 1 gave the Eulogy!

It was a very Heart Rendering Time For All Of Her Boys!

She was laid to rest next to Her Husband Albert LX Z # 183.

We all lost a Very Dear Companion who counseled many Of The Young Men through her 30 Years as Our Patroness!

She will be sorely missed by us all, but knowing Mrs. L as I do, She will be still watching over and protecting Her Boys! http://www.plauder-smilies.de/hearts.gif

A True Lady in The Very Sense Of the Word!!!!!!!

A very saddened heart

Tom,
If we are judged by our friends, she goes to God with the best of recommendations.
If we are judged by our deeds. she need only point to her boys.
I grieve for your loss but I am glad that you had the wonderful opportunity to know such a special lady.
The old latin phrase "orate fratres" seems specially appropriate.
I shall pray for her and for those who feel the loss of her.
