The Jew in the American College Fraternity
Last semester, I wrote a 15-page paper entitled "A Brief History of the Jew in the American College Fraternity." Does anyone know of any places I could publish this as a resource? I'm certainly not an expert on the matter, but some of the history I dug up was pretty interesting, and I got a pretty good grade on it. I'd be interested to see if a) people are interested in the subject and b) people have information that I did not uncover in my research.
Any thoughts? |
You might want to contact the American Fraternity Editor's Asssociation (AFEA), the NIC or the NPC for assistance.

What did you find out? I'd love to hear.

Let me know if you do publish it. I'm curious :)

Hmmm...Maybe I'll just put it up on my website as a word doc and post the link.
Also, Symposium is on 113th, alive and well. It's two doors down from the SigEp house, so we eat there constantly. It's nice to get back to our roots. :-) |
Here it is - I hope you find it informative (and if I've gotten anything wrong, by all means, please correct me!)
I was very proud of SigEp's history when I researched it. We may have started out sectarian, but leading the charge by officially taking race and religion off of the books first is something to smile about. http://www.observationalhumor.com/st...aternities.doc |
One more thing - this is a paper about fraternities, not sororities. Please do not get disappointed at their lack of coverage.
Thanks! |
Steve, can you pm me the article you wrote about greeks on you campus! I thought I booked marked it! Da No!
Thanks!!! |
Check out the link in my signature file - it'll send you right there.

I'll read your paper later when I have more time.

Interesting history!

Hi Steve:
I would really be interested in reading your paper, as I am going to do a thesis on racial issues in fraternities and sororities. In particular, besides finding out that many GLO's had stipulations in their by-laws that not only limited membership to Caucasians only, the member had to be "of the Christian faith". I will check out the link, and I am glad you did this...people should know about different aspects of greek life. Thanks! PhiKappaPsiMan |
