Popularity

Okay, I notice that we often categorize the sororities into the "popular ones" and the "nice ones" and this really bugs me! The "popular" houses are only "popular" because we deem them so. If a large group of potential new members all joined a struggling/smaller organization, would that suddenly make that organization "popular"? I mean, what really defines popularity? Does this mean that the "popular" houses can't be nice?...because, then wouldn't they be the "nice ones"?

okay, sorry, that's my little rant for this morning!

My house is known for having "nice girls"; however, we aren't the most popular.

One of the things that is always said about my house is that we remain nice to girls who did not pledge our house. Sure, it's a compliment, but some PNM's get the attitude "oh, it doesn't matter if we pledge there or not, they will still be our friends."

*sighs*

There was my follow up rant. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Well, I agree.

When I use the word popular, I mean the house who everyone knows there letters. The house who normally makes quota....that have a good reputation no matter who you ask.

Many will disagree with me beacuse ECU is a wide open campus and popularity sometimes means which house the guys like, but that is another type of popularity.
