Epsilon Sigma Phi ???????
 

Has anyone heard of this Fraternity?

They say:

Mission Statement:
Epsilon Sigma Phi is dedicated to fostering standards of excellence in the Extension System and developing the Extension profession and professional.

Vision Statement:
Epsilon Sigma Phi leads the Extension System in promoting
and supporting professionalism in Extension.


Can anyone shed some light on this for me? What is an Extension System and Extension profession/professional? I'm guessing this is more of a Professional Fraternity then a Social one.

Hrm...I don't know what Extension System is about! According to their hanbook (on their website) it sounds like it has something to do with education. (??)

But, yes, it definitly sounds like it is not a social group. In fact, it identifies itself as an "honor fraternity."

I was/am thinking about it, but heard that this one was going to be starting in the fall. I thought I could take the easy way, but I guess not.

So, I guess I'm still looking at starting one. Even looking for guys at CSU, Monterey Bat who are interested in starting a social fraternity there.

Extention Services are like county extention agents I believe.. they work with 4-H, farmers, ect.

My sister TrojanGirl is right! Epsilon Sigma Phi is for professional agriculturists and home economists who serve in the extension system in those fields or in 4-H.

And they always seem to pop up when any of us SigEp's look up "Sigma Phi Epsilon" on the web. :-)

But I bet I could figure out what their letters mean. :-P
