stupid question
I'm about to ask a stupid question...
I use Yahoo! (homepage, groups and email). I know that they offer additional storage, etc. for small fees.. but haven't seen anything about charging for the basic services they offer. Am I just missing something here? Anyone have a link they can point me to? |
I don't use Yahoo, but I know with my Hotmail if I get even remotely close to the limit they start threatening that they'll automatically delete my mail. Then they offer their paid Hotmail account with has almost unlimited storage.
I don't buy into it because I'll come to check my mail when they say they'll delete things and everything is all there. Hootie |
What? No one told me about this! I knew Yahoo! would sell you extra space if you wanted it, but as far as I know their basic services are free as far as e-mail goes. Now I don't know about the other stuff...
But if you want a laugh, go to Yahoo! and search for GeoCities, then click on "Consumer Opinion." My favorite is the "HitlerCities" page...I don't have a problem with GeoCities, but it was funny anyway. |
yea I think it's crazy that hotmail charges for a account, when before you could have a massive amount of mail you know, and is it just me, but does anyone have any issues with getting tons and tons of junk mail???? I made the mistake of signing out of all the junk mail I get and now I get tons more then I did beofre I was registered for newsletters and all that other junk!!!
I too heard that yahoo was going to be doing the same thing that hotmail is doing , not sure if it's a rumor or what but then again thats how all the hotmail stuff started  DGP~Honey~ |
When i sign up for something that i want sent to my house or a user name that needs an email account, sometimes i'll give them an excite account or something that way my main email addy isn't overloaded with ugly mail! I hate getting stupid promotions like ginsu knives and crap! ARG!

This whole thing I'm convinced is just a scam. It's asking for donations to keep their domain running?
So I'm supposed to PAY to get someone to lobby to "possibly" (yeah right) get me something for free? Why not just cut out the middle man and give your money to an actual legitimate company like Yahoo that will actually give you some service in return for your money? Do you think Yahoo actually thinks that anyone WANTS to pay them for something they used to get free? |
