Goodbye!
Just wanted to say goodbye, and thanks to everyone who has given me support the past couple months. Aftre trying everything I knew of to make my fraternity experience a good one I can no longer do it. The immautrity and lack of respect for one another in my house is too much. I wish things could have been different, but I have too much on my plate to deal with the crap I did at the fraternity. isuppose the real turning point to this decision was when I realized over spring break that I did not look forward to going back to college. Not because of school, or that spring break was over, but more because of the fraternity. Upon returning I found the same ol' same ol', all of my $14 dollar hair wax on my desk, a used condom on my dresser. I refuse to live in a $h*thole like that(the house as beautiful as it is, is disrespected by 3/4 of the members). So after all this I just wanted to say goodbye, I dont really see the need to stay on greekchat. I'm no longer greek, and therefor really can't give opinion on being greek. Thanks for all your help!!

Sorry to see you go, SAEguy. :( Even if you don't join another fraternity, I'm sure you'll have a great college experience.
|
I guess Ryan won't get to see this message, but I just wanted to say the just because someone de-pledges or leaves their organization, doesn't mean they can't be a part of GreekChat. Yes, it is a website designed around Greeks, but it's also a great place to meet amazing friends, get advice on just about anything, and just hang out. I hope everything gets better for Ryan in the future.

Ryan, I hope you read these posts!
I for one of many still want a guy like you on GC! You are still a good freind of the many on site! E-M me you should have it! The very best of luck to you from all of us! Just one bad experiece with a Group does not make all bad! Your GC Buddy!!!!!!!!!!!:) |
hey SAEGuy,
I hope now that you have made all of your decisions, that things get better for you and that you'll be less stressed! I hope you had a great trip back from WV. Anyways keep your head up! I'll catch you on IM :D DGP~Honey~ |
Um....why not stick with it and be a leader in your chapter to fix things?? Have you talked to any of your brothers about this?

I don't think Ryan should give up that quickly. I remember the 2nd half of my freshman year- I moved into the sorority stairwell and they moved me in with 3 seniors and a pledge sister who went home every weekend.
The seniors partied all the time and I wondered what I had gotten myself into but knew I never ever wanted to give up on my sorority. Come sophmore year- I moved in with all sophmores and freshmen and was the happiest person ever! Ryan should not let a few members ruin his whole experience with SAE. Also- you gotta remember- he stopped drinking during THE BIGGEST PARTY WEEK of SAE's tradition at his school. We all admired him for that but I can see a bunch of 18-21 year old brothers being like- man- hang with us, party with us- this is OUR CELEBRATION WEEK. And if you don't hang out with your brothers- they will take it to heart. I'm def. not saying- drink to belong or drink to make your brothers happy but you have got to hang out with them and give them a chance. That is a big part of being greek- you are going to meet thousands of people in your life and you are not going to get along with all of them. Your boss may turn out to be a real jerk but you can't quit your job because of it- you gotta deal with it and the fraternity is going to teach you to have tolerance with the guy who borrows your hair gel all the time! Ryan- if you read this - give it to next Fall to decide. I bet a new set of roommates will help you a lot. |
This is a real shame. I do believe that SAE is a great fraternity, but it sounds like he got into a bit of a stinker chapter. :(
|
Ryan, you'll always be greek in your heart. So you belong on GC. Come visit us every once in a while. Follow your heart. Do what you have to. You're always welcomed and respected here.
lifesaver |
There are quite a few former greeks on this site so don't feel you have to leave.
|
I'm sorry to see you go, SAEguy. :( I wish that things could have worked out for you and SAE. Those guys sounded like a gross bunch of guys especially with that used condom on your dresser. YUCK!
|
sorry to see you go and I must say that what everyone said is true, that just because you aren't in a greek organization you doesn't mean that you aren't greek at heart, sorry you had such a bad experiance....
|
Well, needless to say, I think Ryan has cut the cord, and not only with SAE, but with us!:(
I know we will all miss him as a GC Freind!http://www.plauder-smilies.de/pftroest.gif |
Wow. I'm really sorry to hear this news. I wish Ryan the best of luck, and of course he will be welcomed back to GC with open arms should he ever decide to return.

Hey all thanks for the kind words, my chapter is trying to talk me into staying. Just short of them allowing me to live out though, I am done. I have seriously tried everything. As to getting new roomates, its not like a sorority with a big pledge class. I was 2nd semester I only had 3 other pledge brothers we were supposed to be tight and treated me like $h*t. I will see what happens and dont worry if any one needs advice or to just chat I will stop by once awhile!!!
