umm... well...
Since I'm privy to more information about your situation than are probably most other GCers out there, my advice remains the same: while I can understand why you want to go with your ex, I don't think it's the best idea, but as long as you have fun and are CAREFUL (!!!!), then it should be fine. Remember, he doesn't really respect you as a person considering what he's done to you before. Good luck sweetie.

Like SAE said - I've talked to you a lot about it, you know how I feel about it - good luck with everything though, I hope you guys have a great time.

Well, as you know I would have told you NOT to take him ;).
But since you are, have a good time and don't let yourself have a bad time because acts different than you expect him. Remember: The world and everything in it is there for your entertainment. |
he's like a trapped rat....do you want to date a rat??

Been there, Done that....
Okay, lemme state for the record, I've been here before. My ex and I are like two vultures, we only call each other when all else fails. Sure, it'll be all nice and happy for a few phone calls, but then it all goes back into the rhythm of the relationship, where we are only trying to hurt each other with every word that comes out of our mouths.
That being said. My sorority holds our formals in the spring (like yours) and i pledged in the spring. our formal was the weekend we got initiated, so it wasn't like we really had all that time to put into planning it. Push comes to Shove, and I invited my ex as my date. short version: i had more fun after he left! long version: we couldn't hold a civil conversation throught dinner, we were making our table mates extremely angry with us, and i refused to take a picture if he was gonna be in it (it was a terrible night) he decided that he wouldn't stay after dinner, so i walked him to his car (we brought seperate cars, for goodness sake!) and returned to my sisters, where i proceded to have a wonderful time as my second night as an initiated member of Delta Zeta. While there has always been this big taboo about showing up solo to your formal, i know i had more fun alone that night. when the sappy 'dance with your date' slow songs came on - me and a bunch of my sisters had a "boys suck" powwow in the bathroom! if at all possible, i urge you to remind him thathe is your EX and you two need to keep your distance! this year, i'm taking a friend of mine as a way to introduce him to my life here at college. he's from the wdwcp and i know there is no pressure to have fun. it'll just happen. |
Go to formal with him and be a heartbreaker! Pretend like you're the best thing he's ever had but that he won't be getting with you again. If what he was saying to your little is true, and he really does want to get back together...then he wouldn't have lied about it to you. And furthermore he HAD to of known the word would get back to you.
Just go and have fun and don't do anything you'll regret! Hootie |
