women's MAKE-UP tricks
Anyone have any good advice or make-up techniques?
Things like... To make your eyes appear larger, curl eyelashes with an eyelash curler and apply a layer or two of mascara. Any more? ;) |
When you get older...
eyeliner on top-once you near the outer edge go slightly up (not out past the eye) but almost ike you are drawing theline straight out ad fill in the tiny gap with pencil. On the lower make it as light as possible and stop before you get to the end. Opens 'em up and takes away the "tired" look. Glow-lightly dust the hairline of your forehead wih blush LIGHTLY- warms up the face With flat blush-no sparkles dust the bridge of your nose as well add a touch of "sun' look. A touch of highlighter once again no sparkles above yor eyebrows helps lift your face and adds definition. It also makes your expressions more exciting and if "eyes" are your great feature, it's a bonus. I'll think of more. Got these from the theatre director who told us how to adapt stage tricks to real life. the key is the colors of course and nothing too dramatic unless you are going to the "big city"! |
There is also a thread called Beauty Tips that has some very good tips as well. I think its in the Delta Sigma Theta forum.:)

Also, the finishing compacts that look like they have little cubes of rainbow colors make you glow. It is great for any skin tone. I have it in MAC, but other lines should carry it.

do one or the other. if you play up your eyes then leave your lips nude or lightly done. Or if you play up your lips, go lite on the eye makeup, cause if you do double on both , its way way tooo much makeup.
Try the all over sticks, the 2 inone sticks, like ones that are lipstick and blush, or eyeshadow and blush , when in a bind or in short time they work wonders :-D DGP~Honey~ |
To make your eyes stand out, use a very thin line of orange or red eyeshadow above your lashes.
|
- take your finger and blend white eyeshadow along the underside of your eyebrow as well as the inner eye area to open up the eyes.
- when you run out of eye make up remover, use vaseline or even chapstick. Simply rub a bit on a cotton ball or toilet paper and rub off the make up. - take a bit of wine lipstick and blend it onto cheeks for a rosy glow. |
wow these are great tips-thanks girls!!!!

For bags and dark circles under eyes, try cucumber. Just apply two thinly cut slices of cold cucumber on your eyes and rest for a few minutes. I put the cucumber in the freezer, and then slice it. It works wonders.

Bronzer as a blush.
Oh and loose powder with a small brush can work as concealer if your concealer and foundation don't work well enough! Dark colors in your crease and light colors on your lid make your eyes pop out. What else.... Don't use the same colors year round... your face changes colors so your colors should too. GLosswear by Clinique is great for the summer months... it has a hint of color, SPF 15 and keeps your lips smoochable at all times... I love Airkiss. |
Anyone ever hear of this...?
Preparation H to eliminate bags under the eyes. It sounds gross but my friend swears by it!

Give yourself a sun-kissed look by applying blush to your cheeks, the bridge of your nose, and forehead. Makes you look like you spent the day in the sun. :)
