Excellent Advice About LOVE
 

To My Friends Who Are SINGLE:
LOVE is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it eludes you. But if you just let it fly, it will come to you when you least expect it. LOVE can make you happy but often it hurts; but LOVE 's only special when you give it to someone who is REALLY worth it. So take your time and choose the best.

To My Friends Who Are NOT SO SINGLE:
LOVE isn't about becoming somebody else's "perfect person." It's about finding someone who helps you become the best person you can be.

To My Friends Who Are The PLAYBOY/GIRL TYPE:
Never say "I LOVE you" if you don't really mean it. Never talk about feelings if they aren't there. Never touch a life if you mean to break a heart. Never look in the eye when all you do is lie. The cruelest thing a guy/girl can do to a girl/guy is to let her/him fall in LOVE when he/she doesn't intend to catch her/his fall and it works both ways...

To My Friends Who Are MARRIED:
LOVE is not about "It's your fault!" but about "I'm sorry." Not "Where are you?", but about "I'm right here." Not about "How could you?", but about "I understand." Not about "I wish you were," but about "I'm thankful you are!"

To My Friends Who Are ENGAGED:
The true measure of compatibility is not the years spent together but how good you are for each other.

To My Friends Who Are HEARTBROKEN:
Heartbreaks last as long as you want and cut as deep as you allow them to. The challenge is not to survive heartbreaks but to learn from them.

To My Friends Who Are NAIVE:
Intructions for being in LOVE: Fall, but don't stumble. Be consistent, but not too persistent. Share and never be unfair. Understand, but don't demand. And finally, get hurt--but never keep the pain.

To My Friends Who Are POSSESSIVE:
It breaks your heart to see the one you LOVE happy with someone else, but it's more painful to know that the one you LOVE is unhappy with you.

To My Friends Who Are AFRAID TO CONFESS:
LOVE hurts when you break up with someone. It hurts even more when someone breaks up with you. But LOVE hurts the most when the person you LOVE has no idea how you feel.

To My Friends Who Are HOLDING ON:
A sad thing about life is when you meet someone and fall in LOVE , only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and that you have wasted months or years on someone who wasn't worth it. If he/she isn't worth it now, he/she won't be worth it 1 year or 10 years from now. Let go.....

TO ALL MY FRIENDS:
My wish for you is a man/woman whose LOVE is UNCONDITIONAL, HONEST, STRONG, MATURE, NEVER-CHANGING, UPLIFTING, PROTECTIVE, ENCOURAGING, REWARDING, and UNSELFISH. May God bless you with TRUE LOVE from the Soul-Mate you want, need, AND deserve!!!

I'm so sorry that you're having "love issues" and I pray things will get better for you. The funny thing is, I (of all people) really need to take this advice! For months, I've really been struggling in the love category, and things recently got even more difficult. I have to read and re-read these words to encourage myself to stay strong! In the words of a gospel song that's been a huge help for me these last few weeks:

When I cannot seem to love again
and the raindrops won't ever end
If I just hold on
those clouds will soon be gone
There's a blessing in the storm!

In 1st Corinthians, chapter 13, Paul's definition of LOVE is what really gives me understanding, solace, and hope:

LOVE suffers long and is kind; LOVE does not envy; LOVE does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. LOVE never fails...

...but the greatest of these is LOVE!

1Corinthians is one of my favorite chapters in bible. When my marriage relationship is going through the "valley", I go back to that chapter to remember what love is really about.
