Bitter Former Member
I just thought I would share a bit about my experience with the girl who put her badge up on Ebay (it's there now). I politely asker her to remove the item. Her description says she lost her badge, bought a new one, and then found this one so put it up on ebay. On another one of her auctions, it states that she is no longer active. As we all know, this does not mean she is not a member.
In her response to the e-mail she said that she quit my "eliteist" sorority and that she didn't like what we stood for and quit. She also said I was brainwashed to think that any harm would come if someone got hold of our badge and that I should have better things to do than play ebay police for Alpha Gam. Inaddition, she stated that she paid a lot of money and wants to get reembursed. She feels this is a good way. I politely replied to her that I was sorry for the way she felt about the fraternity but don't take it out on me. If anyone of you want to know her name just pm me and I will let you know. I don't know what school she went to. I tried to get on member services to find out but the site was down. Any insight here? Is there a way we can get someone selling "fraternity property" to stop? Please let me know. |
She was from Zeta Alpha. I don't know what school that is.

Hmmm...interesting...
I'm from Zeta Alpha and I haven't heard anything like that. That's really weird. Are you sure she said she was from Zeta Alpha? Huh. Buff Rose, could you PM me with the name? I'd really appreciate it. Hey Leslie, Christy, or Katey, do you guys know anything about it? Well, I'm sure I'll talk to you before any of you read this...<grin> Sorry for the lack of advice! LIEP, Holly |
The badge belongs to Alpha Gamma Delta, not her.
Why doesn't she try to sell it to one of her chapter sisters? Esp. with initiations coming around. Could be that she really isn't a ZA? Eastern Michigan... |
I have her name and looked her up. This is why we know she is from ZA chapter.
|
I know who this is and it's not really a happy story.
Buff Rose, I'm sorry you were treated that way and I offer an apology for this former member's attitude. If you want to talk about it, PM me. |
I also apologize for this former chapter sisters actions. She was actually my first pledge mom and partially the reason I had to hold over! I also wrote to her before realizing who she was and where she was from (that ringer tee she is selling is my FAVORITE ZA t-shirt!!) I feel so embarrassed for our chapter and I really hope that ppl don't think that this reflects the kind of girls we are. Buff Rose, I apologize for the way she talked to you. I knew she was bitter, but I didn't know to this extent

This topic is way too sad, so how about some HAPPY ebay news?
As someone who happens to collect Alpha Gam and Winnie the Pooh paraphenalia, I scored the holy grail of e-bay auctions yesterday! I won the cutest UK-only limited edition of a stuffed Winnie the Pooh dressed in a squirrel costume! It is soooo cute, and I cant wait to display it at work! Also, I'm waiting for a Quarterly that I won a few weeks ago celebrating our 50th anniversary. Its amazing what you can find on ebay with a little creativity and disposable income. ;) |
haha one of my chapter sisters is also really into Pooh stuff.
I've seen that Pooh squirrel several million times but haven't gotten it quite yet. You're going to bring it to work?! lol :) |
I've never seen the Pooh-squirrel before! Don't know how I missed it, but I'm just excited to have gotten it. :)
Yes, I'm going to bring it into work. For some reason, its the trendy thing around here. People bring in little beanie-baby things and keep them around their cubicles--I guess as some kind of a stress-reliever or decoration. Its a really nice way to combine two of my favorite things to collect. I know it will make me smile--something we always need to do more of when we are at work! :p |
