I am in the process of doing a website for my chaoter. Does anyone have any ideas of what type of information should be included.? Also does anyone know how to do a flash on your webpage? Also is there anyway that I can put my poweer point presentation on mywebsite? If you have anyother ideas and suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Some key features for a chapter website:
History & Goals, Philanthropy infomation, membership info, activities, list of officers and contact info, photo album. re: Flash - you need to us a programming tool such as Macromedia Director or Adobe Live Motion. |
Web Builder for Beginners
Hi All!
I'm an A-Phi and happen to work for an internet company that allows you to build a site with no programming (http://www.citymax.com). It includes allowing you to have message boards feedback forms (all info would be stored there) up to 10 emails domain transfer guest book online polls and more! There are monthly charges of $19.98 per month but it includes hosting plus all the software. I would also be happy to custom build a site for any sororities or fraternities based on our software and not charge anything on top of the $19.98 for setting it all up. Not only that, if you don't like what I build, I can fix the site or you can just walk away. You won't have to pay until after you see the site. After I'm done, I will teach you how to easily update and use the site. Since it's geared for beginners, it's really easy to use. If you're interested, just drop me a line at ehirai@citymax.com and I can help you build and develop a site. Or if you want to try it out yourself, you can go to http://www.citymax.com and try out the 14 day free trial. Cheers, Emily :) |
flash sites without knowing flash
hey all,
i learned about this one website called SwishMovie where you can create mini flash movies and sites without using the actual Flash 5.0 program. the website is www.swishzone.com. You can download a free 15 day trial that is fully functional and then the paid version is either 30-50 bucks. A gamma phi on campus told me about it. she thought it was really easy to use and she only got the 15 day trial. her delta chi bf got the actual program and loves it. i thought i would bring it up to anyone looking to put a simple flash movie on their chapter's webpage. |
Webmasters: I need your help
I'm the webmaster for my chapter (here's the link if you wanna check it out:)
http://www.geocities.com/deltasigsdsu Yeah, it's pretty basic. Thing is, I friend my hard drive on my PC (I'm using a friend's PC right now), so I lost my HTML Editor (CoffeeCup), which I got for free. So now I was wondering if there is any other HTML Editor better than CoffeeCup. Thanks. |
one of my old prof's recommended firstpage. i do the websites for our chapter also, but i script everything out from scratch b/c i feel it's a lil more versatile that way ;)
The URL for firstpage is http://www.evrsoft.com/ and best of all, it's free! |
I used to use Frontpage but you aren't allowed to use basic functions like rollovers and anchor links. So I switched and now swear by Dreamweaver 4. It's a lil complicated at first but if you have basic HMTL skills and design knowledge, it will work out for you. I recently updated our page:
http://home.earthlink.net/~chidelta If you need help with the design aspect of it all, email me if you can and I can give you some critiques on the site. Some of fraternities on campus have some cool ones. http://www.saczbt.org http://www.sigepcsus.com http://www.csus.edu/org/tke http://www.csus.edu/org/sigmapi my email is starla37@collegeclub.com Good luck to you! |
Gracias, Merci, and Thanks.

I use Macromedia Homesite. It's not free, but it is the shiznit for raw HTML editing.

I'm the webmaster for my sorority, and I wrote our site up from scratch using notepad and plain HTML knowledge. I used paint to make images and icons.
If you have a good grasp of HTML, you don't need any fancy programs! Feel free to take a look! The link is in my signature. |
