I am so excited to report that I received my invitation to join Alpha Xi Delta as an alumna initiate with the Gamma Lambda chapter at the University of Tennessee! :) My greatest wish has come true - finding a home with Alpha Xi!

Thanks everyone! I would assume that since I have my invitation I would attend the initiation this month? Or do I have to take new member classes before that? I need to talk to my alum group - but I havent gotten a chance yet - I will update soon!

I found out the exact date of my initiation - Monday night, March 25 :) The hunt begins for something white :eek:

First of all, congratulations!

Second, I dont know what size you wear, but the Lane Bryant/Roman's catalog carries a very nice simple suit for about $30. Don't know if it would arrive in time. I think the smallest size they carry, though, is 12.

Yeah, this isn't the best time of year to be shopping for white!

My chapter won't be installed again until fall 2003 at least but I'm gonna be there, and I'm already starting the hunt for a nice white dress.

One of my best girlfriends is an AXiD (initiated at IU), and I know if she were on GC she'd be welcoming you to her sisterhood, but she's not, so I'm doing it for her :)

Congratulations on AZD! Sorry my PM box was full. Good luck with the hunt for the perfect dress! Maybe you can find a white dress at David's Bridal. I figure it's a bridal shop so they must have white dresses. Here's some info. I hope that it helps.

Thanks so much Cream, KappaStargirl , FuzzieAlum, and PnguinTrax for all the advice :) I think I am going to go shopping next week - I am thankful that the initiation isnt in the dead of winter - and that white seems to be the new "in" color. I will report back as to what I have found!
