I'm not exactly sure of what the purpose of an ELC is. I've only been around for 2 semesters but from what I hear the ELC's we have had those semesters wasn't representative of what the ELC's are supposed to be. The first one wasn't very involved and the second one basically told us to change some of our "separation" issues and he didn't care what we did cause nationals was gonna close us if we didn't. They seemed to only cause problems and didn't seem to want to help, only to give negative critism. What is their true purpose?

Matt, the ELC is suppose to visit your Chapter point out wrongs and or rights!

I know we had one who was a dick! We had another who I drove from Kansas City after I talked to him on the phone! He was great but leaving the International for private sector!

They are only as good as time allows and the frame of mind they are in from seeing many chapters and travelling many miles! They are and should be there to point out problems if any and suggest solutions. Unfortunatly they are there for such a short time that I wonder if it pays off in the long run! Of course it will if the chapter trys to emplement some of the suggestions!

I know KS has DGM's but are volunteers who are Alums! This is hard to do. So having paid Brothers trying to help Should Be Better!

It takes the Alums of each Chapter to help also and that is what we are trying to do now! BUT, there has to be interaction between the Actives and the Alums to make it work! Not just one side or the other!:)

Ive seen about 14 ELC's as an active and an alumni

about 20% are useful

30% are just there wasting space

and 50% are cocks on ego trips.

This seems to be similar to ratios of people employed in the real world.

Suck it up University of Florida!
