Single...and proud?

Since I joined GreekChat, I've noticed that a majority of the conversation on ChitChat is directed towards relationships: dating, breakups, engagements, advice, etc.

So, I was wondering how many people out there are actually single and proud of it...?

For me, I am single, but haven't quite reached the proud of it stage yet. I am still very much in love with my ex. My boyfriends have always been more than that, they've been my best friends. Not having one is like something is missing.

Any proud, single people out there?

Hi HotDamGam, I'm curious to know what chapter you are from.

You should post in the AGD forum :)

<-- Single, by choice...and proud of it!

I agree with HotDam Gam. I just got out of a serious relationship and he was more then just my boyfriend. He was my best friend.
But being single has really helped me understand myself better and realize what I value in a relationship and the type of person I would someday like to find myself with forever.

HAVE FUN! YOUR IN COLLEGE. THIS ISNT THE TIME TO GET SO SERIOUS WITH SOMEONE THAT YOU LOOSE TOUCH WITH THOSE YOU LOVE YOU THE MOST, YOUR FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm single, and have been that way for a while despite a good number of "friends" and dates, but I wouldn't necessarily say I am proud to be single.

I am proud that I am not dependant on guys, that I am realistic about relationships, that I am picky and proud that I am not a basketcase.

Over the last year, well almost a year since I was in a relationship with a label on it, I think I have settled for a little less than I normally do. In that I went in to a couple "friend with benefits" situations knowing that I would be leaving school in December. I kept my head about me and never let my feelings or the situation get too far.

I, like alot of people, hope to meet a gorgeous guy, who blows me away both in attraction and personality. I miss the little things I had when I had a boyfriend: the companionship, the conversation and the fun. It is a little hard right now to even meet guys because I am away from home and away from school and in a new environment.

But I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason, that you learn from your past boyfriends and that people come in and out of your lives for a reason.

I am single, not necessarily proud, but happy in my life and I know that things will work out in the end. I just may complain about it once in a while.

Thought I would add my thoughts on this one since it has been on my mind a lot lately. I am somewhat used to being single while all my friends seem to always have boyfriends, but I try not to let it get me down. I just think that one of these days (hopefully sometime soon) I will find the "one", and it will have been worth the wait! So I guess I am proud to a point because I know people who make themselves miserable over not having a boyfriend, but I would rather concentrate on stuff a little more important.. like my grades! :)

Guess I'm the only guy who is single and proud...I am definitely fine with being single, Lately I've been seeing all my buddies getting depressed and having their heads messed with...Lord knows mine has taken some abuse...So i'll just continue to carry on and have fun, if a girl comes around that I like then so be it....

after the last few relationships I've had, I'm single and very proud to stay that way for a little while.

Even though I am now 30, I am soooo happy at this time of my life and part of the happiness is being single. I would love a relationship someday but the time is not rt. at this moment-I still have lots to do on my own!!

Definitely single and proud, because to be perfectly honest it is much more fun to move from crush to crush and not have to worry about being tied down at the age of 21.

I couldn't agree more! I'm having a blast having a different date every week-end. Variety is the spice of life after all. At least for now:p

I'm not looking to get into anything really serious until my late 20's. I've got a whiel to go.

So yeah, I'm Single & Proud

UofISigKap 02-26-2002 09:12 AM

aggieAXO- you took the words out of my mouth. There is still so much for me to do on my own! A relationship would be great...in the future. I'm almost 24 and still enjoying coming home and relaxing on my own after working. I can still go places with friends at the drop of a hat and just hold my own hours without worrying about being inconsiderate toward another's schedule.
