SERIOUS Greek poll-EVERYONE please read & reply

Ok guys, I've got a project for my grad class that I'm doing on the effect (beneficial or detremental) to students in general. As a Greek, I would like nothing more than to show the great benefits that Greek membership has on our fellow Brothers and Sisters. SO...I need everyone to help out by answering a few questions however their own personal experience dictates. This is a serious poll and is not meant to drum up any "bad news" or to pick on any one fraternity or sorority. Please be as specific as possible while remaining descreetly general. Many thanks in advance!!!

Question #1
What do you see as the biggest problem/threat to Greek Systems today?
A. Decline in members recruited.
B. Hazing of any kind.
C. Alcohol abuse.
D. Misrepresentation by the media.
E. Lack of focus on the organization's ideals.
F. Lack of support by University officials.
G. Other problem (please specify)

PLEASE PICK THE ONE (1) PROBLEM YOU SEE AS THE BIGGEST THREAT TO GREEK SYSTEMS...IF YOUR OPINION IS NOT LISTED, PLEASE SPECIFY WHAT YOUR OPINION IS.

Thanks again!

E.

Many of the other problems can be directly traced to this.

True, True.
However I'm voting for D. The over-representation of negative publicity from the media's use through B and C magnifies A and F.

E.

All the orgs were founded for good reasons, we all just need to uphold the ideals better.

D. I'm sick and tired of being pigeonholed as a spoiled little tramp because I wear letters. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif

D. You see all of these negative portrayals of Greeks on film and on TV, the newsmedia focuses on hazing and other bad things that some chapters unfortunately participate in, and many administrations seem all too willing to kick chapters off campus for a few years if they break a rule. Remember all of those threads looking for an accurate movie portrayal of Greek Life? Did we ever find one??? For people who dont take the time to realize what Greek Life is all about (up in NE its really not a big thing) this negative portrayal is all you ever know.

A. Without that NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. You wont have an opportunity to even face any of the other probs if your or any hcapteris closed due to numbers.

A. We need more members nationally. The more members, the larger force to be reconded with! They need to be EDUCATED members, not just warm bodies...then we get into the not so great behavior... rumors...media issues!

Gotta go with D. Especially at my University.

I agree, completely!

I'm with the E crowd. A lot of folks don't even remember why they were founded. None of you guys of course, but we all know those in our chapter who wouldn't remember.

For the sake of where I go to school, I'm going to agree with Lexi and say A. But D is a big factor for every sorority and fraternity all across the nation. I'm going to go with D overall.

A. It all comes down to manpower to accomplish/erradicate the other things listed.
