transferring to bethany
Hey guys! I'm new to the boards and I'm not too sure if I'm posting on the right one...But I was wondering if anyone could tell me a little bit about the Greek system at Bethany college. I'm a sophomore at Duquesne right now and I'm thinking of transferring. I was just wondering how the rush system works and if it would be possible to go through as a junior. I know some schools are ok with that and others only take freshman. Anything else about the campus, sororities, ect. would be great! Thanks!

Dancegirl,
I don't know much about sorority rush at Bethany, but it is where Delta Tau Delta was founded in 1858. Good luck, |

Useless fact...
When Delt was founded, Bethany College was in Virginia. Remember, it was in 1858 -- before the Civil War. |
hey, dancergirl. you've come to the right place! i'm currently a junior at Bethany. right now, rush at Bethany is set up on the deferred rush system, but we are looking to change it to the fall. but as a transfer, you can join before the formal rush period if rush is still in the spring. we currently have Alpha Xi Delta, Phi Mu, and Zeta Tau Alpha on our campus; my sorority was (well, is) Kappa Delta, but our charter recently got pulled because of low numbers (which is another story entirely). so the Greek system will be going through a lot of changes in the next few months, but i definitely encourage particiaption in Greek life. i wouldn't trade having been a part of KD and the system as a whole for anything. it's a lot of fun, and gives you something to do; seeing as how it's a small campus, you have to find things to get involved in. the administration isn't always overly supportive of Greeks, but they aren't terrible. a large percentage of the student body is Greek. it's defintely something to look into if you decide to come here. hope to see you around!!!!!
