Bid Day
I've been told that my daughter won't know what sorority invited her to join until she received her invitation on bid day. Makes sense BUT the U of A has a couple of videos on YouTube of bid day from the past 2 years and the girls appear to be in groups wearing the colors of the sorority that they're pledging. How do they know which group to stand in and which colors to wear if they don't know until they get their card? **I've searched the words "bid day" and nothing comes up so please don't jump on me and tell me this has been answered before.
**This is a double post, I accidentally posted it in the introduction forum. Mea Culpa. |
Until they open their envelope, they do not know what is inside( unless they single intentional preference and don't receive a call from the recruitment counselor telling them they did not receive a bid). The photos must have been taken after they opened their bids.

I think many of the girls receive bid day shirts from the sororities on bid day. I know at my daughter's school - Mizzou - the girls all wear a tank top to bid day and then put their bid days shirts on over it once they run to their sorority and receive it.

Which UofA, please?

I think University of Arkansas as UA GreekLife has been filming bid day at the Chi Omega Greek Theatre the past few years.

There are a few GCers who think the same thing, only it's Alabama not Arkansas. And I'm like - hello? ARIZONA! Someone got really snarky with me once upon a time and so for a while I was writing UofAZ. Anyway I missed the "theater floor" reference but not sure that would have made any difference to me at the time. It's all good. Excited for your daughter - hope she finds a home! |
You need to set in a supply of your favorite adult beverage. Some oxygen. And chocolate. And ice cream or frozen yogurt. And salty foods. And throw the scale in the garbage.
