Breaking News: Journalist held captive...
 

The Wall Street journalist, Daniel Pearl has been killed. The news just broke. The journalist had been "missing", then detained since last month.

Reports have stated that the kidnappers, (supposedly Islamic) had not asked for a ransom? They had not made any demands...

What's really going on?

The wife is 6 mos. pregnant. :eek: :(

She doesn't look like a WASP either. :confused:

Unfourtunatly, he was killed. I heard the report on CNN today. His wife is French(they met in paris), and this would have been their 1st child together. :(

A co-worker told me the news at work today. I was hoping the situation would work out. How sad.

I read in the Wall Street Journal this morning, which I didn't see in the CNN article, that the kidnappers also asked the US to turn over the F-16 fighter jets that Pakistan purchased in the late '80's but never delivered due to US sanctions related to the Islamabad weapons program. Basically... we took the money and rolled out. There's no mention on whether the US ever gave back the money... but the kidnappers wanted the planes, leaving me to believe that we didn't. This country does some wild chyt!!

I read the CNN story and it brought tears to my eyes when they said his throat was cut. :( :( :(

I believe they also asked for the release of the detainees... :confused:

The whole thing is just sad. They said the tape is pretty gruesome. He was lured out of his apartment following a "tip". :(

I heard the story on a breaking news report yesterday. This is so sad. I'm keeping Pearl,his family and the people of our great country in my prayers,during these uncertain times.
