The book was good
Having Our Say, the book form, was an enjoyable read. My favorite line was the sisters' comment about former vice president Quayle:
"If that boy were colored, he'd be washing dishes." IMHO, that applies to some other folx in prominent roles today.:p |
The play is EXCELLENT!!! If you ever have the chance to see it....DO!

Ruby Dee and Dianne Carol did an excellent job with the movie and I cried at the end when they were sitting at the play. It's an eye opener and a one for the COLLECTION.:)

Mother Wit and Just Good Advice for Living
I read the book in college on a Friday night while others were out at a party because reading that book was equal to talking to my grandmother and other fiesty women. It was a quick read with insight.
Steeltrap, I had forgot about that quote but they were so right in their description of Quayle and others like him. While taking the class that the book was assigned the first of the 2 sisters passed away and I remember being overwhelmed with grief because it was like meeting a long lost family member and two weeks later she is gone. |
I did not see the play but would like to - - - i did not think the book was as good as the video - - anyway, please check it out.
