Midwestern Catholic Archbishop Resigns
 

Today it was announced Pope Francis accepted the resignations of Archbishop John Nienstedt and Auxiliary Bishop Lee Anthony Piche. Nienstedt and Piche were leaders of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis in Minnesota.

The archdiocese has been charged by prosecutors with (alleged) failure to protect children from harm by “a pedophile priest.”

Sad and difficult times for the Church in that area.
