BlueReign - I know how horrible and devestated you must feel right now - there is no comfort in losing a sister in murder. My prayers of support are with you and all Sigma Gamma Rho's for this terrible loss. I am sure the legacy of this remarkable woman will live on.

How awful. My deepest sympathies to you, all your sisters, and her family.

I am so sad

Greek Friends,

I am so sad and angry right now. A special Soror of mine, 80 years old, and very active in my chapter and in her community was murdered last weekend.

We all have our "specs" but she was pretty special to me. She motivated me everytime I spoke with her to work hard for Sigma Gamma Rho and maintain my activism in my community. Keep me and my Sorors in D.C. in your prayers. She will be greatly missed.

Thank you all for your kind words. It means so much to me. This lady was 80 years young and became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho in 1941 while studying at Howard University. Marriage and children interrupted her education but she returned to get her B.A. when she was 65 years old and then got a Masters. A scholarship is going to be established in her name.
