Angel watching over me!
If you had to pick 1 moment in life when you felt an angel was watching over you, when would it have been?
I think about this every so often, and this was 17 years ago. I was a freshman in HS, and I had to cross the railroad tracks to get to school. I don't know where my mind was, but I didn't hear the bells, horns, toots from the trains, people yelling, I just crossed the tracks right in front of a train going at least 50mph. When I looked up I had crossed the track maybe 3 whole seconds before the train passed. |
I am BLESSED!
There have been several occasions but the main one is this: In 1993, I was diagnosed with a benign tumor on my spine. It grew on the nerves that control everything below the waist. My doctor told me that my surgery should last about 5 hours and there was a 60+% chance that I will walk again. I was in surgery for 7 1/2 hours....which is...I found afterwards too long for a patient to be under anesthesia....anything more than that and the patient can die. I survived the surgery....and it's been nine years this July, and I am walking w/a cane and a brace on my leg....Thanking God for my Life, Health and Strength! :) |
I think that....
I have angels watching over me everyday. I know who some of them are, and even though I may not know the rest, I still thank God that they watch over me each day that God gives me. God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good!!!!!!!

[singing] "Thank you God, for all You've done for me..."
One morning, around 5 a.m. in Jan 1990, I was an unafilliated 20 year old coming home from the big Blue Revue afterparty. I was "a little tired", but I thought I could make it from Norman to Oklahoma City (a 30 minute drive with no traffic) safely. I remember driving, listening to my tapes, etc.
Then I noticed that I-35 had a new feature: a big mountain--stretching into the clouds, farther than I could see, seemingly all the way to heaven. I remember thinking, "How am I gonna get my little car all the way up this mountain?" I decided to go for it, but in the next second I slammed on the brakes, and thought, "Wait a minute, there are NO mountains in Oklahoma!" I woke up and I was on the bridge over the Canadian River... Let me echo the sentiments of Lil_Sunshine: "God is good all the time and all the time, God is good!" AMEN! |
