Ireland Votes to Allow Same-sex Marriage
Ireland's voters have approved amending the country's constitution to allow marriage of same-sex couples. News reports say this is the first time a nation has taken this step via popular vote. Reports are that over 60% of the ballots were in favor of the change.

So happy about this. It says a lot that a conservative Catholic country who only 20 years ago voted to legalize divorce, is the first country to vote for equality.

This makes me so happy for Ireland, I hope that other nations follow suit! I'm proud to say I was able to live there, hopefully I will be able to again- what an historic victory!
