Officer wont send ambulance and arrests girl for bad language during 911 call
 

17 year old girl calls 911 when brain injured father falls down and officer refuses to send ambulance and hangs up on her because she used f-word in her panic on the phone.

Then he arrests her when she goes to the station to complain.

The "officer" should be fired and lose his pension, and the settlement should come out of his pocket, not the city's. This is one of the most inexcusable things I've ever seen.

Totally behind 33girl on this post! If story is correct the City has insurance for this type of thing!

Daughter under duress so can understand the problem!

He eventually got a two week suspension without pay which he tried to fight through the union. The suspension was upheld. He was also sent to anger management.

Her family got a 35,000 dollar settlement. And they dropped the charges against her.

I hope they at least took him off 911 calls.

The 6 minutes or so he delayed doesnt seem like a long time but in an emergency it can be life or death.

*raspberry* Let's be more specific, it was Lincoln Park and it happened in 2009 during the worst of the recession. A) LP is NOT good these days and B) there were massive cut backs all over. It's still not good. But this was 6 years ago.

But my friends, to be a twit is both eternal and recession proof. It's sort of the glory of that state of being. :)

I wonder what would have happened if the father had died? 6 minutes can be a long time in a medical emergency.
