Question?

I am new to this board and, I'm looking forward to talking with everyone here. I graduated from Clemson University where I was an AGD. My chapter was dissolved in 1999, I think. Anyway, my question: have any others sisters had your chapters dissolved(is that the correct word?)and how did you feel?

Hi Kellie and welcome to Greek Chat! :)

I think dissolve is a pretty good word to use. The majority of us on here are in chapters that are still active, so thats probably why no one has responded to your post yet. However, there are a few (i think maybe 3) who's chapters are currently inactive. They come on every so -often (they have lives unlike myself...joke ;)) so maybe when they do they could tell you how they feel and what the have done to stay active. Keep checking your post!
I think most people if they had a true attachment would feel saddened if their chapter ever dissolved. Especially if they were still in it at the point in time. But sometimes maybe all other solutions havent worked and thats the only thing to do. I think our Clemson chapter will probably be back up again so though. I know from some things posted by Clemson greek members on here that Clemson is looking to expand on its sororities and greek system period, and im sure IHQ would jump on the chance to possibly re-open the house up there. Maybe you could contact them to see if they are interested in recolonzing Clemson. Hope you continue to chat with us :)

Theta Theta

I'm an alumna of Theta Theta chapter at Mississippi State Univ. and we have just heard that our chapter is being resolved effective in May. There is an appeals process that we are going through, but these sisters are so upset, as I am. They could really use any words of encouragement or advice. You can visit their web site at:

My goodness, I am so very sorry to hear that. I wish all of our Theta Theta sisters the very best of luck, and I hope that we will see the chapter recolonized soon.

I am an active at Theta Theta and we are very confused and hurt right now by what has happened. I believe that if our members heard from our sisters all over the country right now it might ease the pain just a little, so please if you have time post us a message on our site. The address is in a post above I believe. Thank you very much.

Theta Theta is organizing a letter writing campaign to voice our opinion about our chapter being resolved. Any support our sisters from other chapters can give would be greatly appreciated. You can find an address to mail letters (and fax numbers and e-mail) at alphagammadelta.org (International's site). Go under "About Us" then click on "International Headquarters."

From what I hear they are meeting in the next day or so to decide the fate of Theta Theta. I am encouraged that they are going to at least review the situation. If we all pull together I know we can make a difference.

Thank you for your support!!

I am so sorry to hear about Theta Theta. That really just sucks (to be blunt). I hope and pray for the best with all of our sisters at Mississippi State. I signed your guest book, kept it light. Keep us posted on what's going on!

Loyally,
Monica
