It is the best, most beautiful night ever! All the women wear cocktail dresses and look absolutely gorgeous! It is also a very sentimental night- there will be singing and maybe a slide show or someone speaking about what their sorority means to them. Tears and hugs- so emotional. Pref was definetly my favorite party!

Pref was my favorite too! I was blown away that what I was seeing and feeling actually made me cry. It was a beautiful evening that really showed me about sisterhood.

I agree with everyone, preference nite was so beautiful. The sisters were dressed up in lovely dresses and I could really feel the true meaning of sisterhood. I cried, I will never forget preference nite.

The reason it's called Pref night is because you and the sorority have chosen each other as a "preference" so to speak. You like them, they like you. It's usually a special ceremony with dressed up sorority girls. Most are tearjerkers, if you're a sap :) which of course I am. Our pref ceremony involves the PNMs as well, so they end up with the waterworks as well! You'll love it :)

AWW I can't wait!! I am such a baby when it comes to meaningful and sentimental things:)

Yeah, pref night is the best night! It was totally awsome. We had the PNM's crying along with us. They all said it was awesome and could totally see what a great sisterhood we have.

Pref night is amazing! You get all dressed up, and the sisters talk about what their sorority means to them, and they sing songs, and there's a ceremony-I'll admit it, I cried...a sidenote-I had regular mascara on, and I'm crying at Pref, and all of a sudden I'm like-oh god! My mascara's probably around my ankles right now!! So wear waterproof mascara:D ...but it was the best.

pref night was what "sold" me to phi sig! the ceremony is so touching and beautiful...it is bound bring everyone to tears, even the PNM's. In our pref parties we have several sisters speak about why phi sigma sigma is important to them and we conclude with songs and a brief ceremony that involves everyone, which i think makes it a little more special for the rushees! :)

During rush week, I had thought that it was really the skit day that "sold" me on DG...I really got to see the personalities of the girls during that day. But the Pref there was the best out of the three houses I went to that night...the girls, the decorations, the ambiance..I swear it looked like a wedding was taking place there! Anchor ice sculpture, roses absolutely everywhere, chocolate decadence and cheesecake (yum!)...basically it was absolutely overwhelmingly impressive! The bonds between all of the sisters at each house I went to was quite apparant pref night..with testimonials, good conversation, etc. Preference was really a great night, and a memory i'll cherish for a long time! I can't wait until next year when i'm on the other side of rush going through it :)

I'm a phi sig too but we don't do the brief ceremony afterwards that includes everyone... What do you guys do b/c I think that would be a WONDERFUL edition to our pref night? |
