New here, and hoping to rush in the fall.
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, and I had a few questions.
Does anyone know if Greek Life at University of Minnesota, Illinois State University, or University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign is competitive? Is there an age limit to participate in recruitment? What can I do to make myself stand out among other PNMs? |
Can someone please help?

No age to participate but you must be an undergraduate. If you are considerably older, that could be an issue as could marriage and children. Most of the members are 18-22 and they don't usually take to 25 and 26 year olds coming thru.
Competitive is an individual determination. However, at those 3 schools, as long as your grades are good and you have a solid resume and keep an OPEN mind, you'll find a home. |
It is the weekend, people are busy, please give it a little time. It's not like you are starting rush on Monday.

If you're the one going through rush, it's competitive. All of these schools follow RFM and as such as long as you accept all of your invitations you have a very high likelihood of finding a sorority home. Competitive generally means competition to get into a select number of sororities at a particular campus, not placement in general. Even at the most competitive schools virtually every girl who sticks with it finds a home at the end. Don't drop out, be happy with your new list of invitations (regardless how small) for each round and you'll be fine.
Unless you're 22 or older, in which case you are going to have a very rough go. All of these are traditional Greek systems and non-traditional students (by age or marital status as a for instance) will not do well. |
