National Orgs vs. Local Orgs

As I mentioned in the Expansion thread, Pi Kappa Phi is colonizing at the State University of New York-Geneseo. The IFC president wrote a letter to the editor telling why he doesn't think it's a good idea to have another national organization on a campus known for its locals. He also sees it as a move on the admin to get everyone to switch to national affiliation.

My favorite line:

"At the onset, Pi Kappa Phi will attract an entire host of new members who were blackballed from existing fraternities this semester." (Point: many national orgs take the same attitude when a new org comes on campus.)

Wow, this is a lot of sour grapes.

Geneseo needs to get over itself.

As I said in the other thread, SUNY did this to themselves.

I'm also not quite sure what Pi Kapp is thinking with this one. It reminds me of when they tried to start a Sigma Nu chapter at my alma mater - when there were multiple fraternity chapters with alum bases that could have been restarted - and it pretty much laid a giant goose egg.
