BURLINGTON, N.C. -- A Jacksonville-area woman faces charges in North Carolina for allegedly stealing a police car while she was naked.

Authorities in Burlington, North Carolina, said a police officer patrolling the downtown area late last night saw a naked woman on a street corner. With temperatures in the upper 20s, the officer said his first thought was to put the woman in the back seat of the car and cover her in a blanket from the trunk.

While the officer was going for the blanket, the woman allegedly crawled into the front seat and drove off with the cruiser. She was caught several blocks later when she backed the car into another police cruiser.

Police charged Joy Lynn Tedesco, 33, of Orange Park, Fla., with several counts,including car theft, speeding to elude arrest, driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license and assaulting a police officer.

She also was charged with another assault on an officer and possessing drug paraphernalia after she was taken to the jail.

I'm thinking Josh is right, must be creative. On the other hand I guess this doesn't fair to well for the town I grew up in. Can't find Orange Park on a map, but in a story about a naked woman stealing a police car...:rolleyes:

so check this out... i live in western pa, where we have a chain restaurant called Eat n Park... it's a 24 hour diner... my best friend and i were there late last nite and one of the waitresses that i went to high school with comes over to my booth and tells me that she used the rest room after finishing her shift and there was some woman SMOKING CRACK in the bathroom. she had just gotten off the phone with the police, who came and had to escort the woman from the restaurant. they found a humongous wad of cash on her and drug paraphanelia in the garbage but not ON her so they couldn't arrest her!!! now i always thought my town was a lil ghetto and all but i never expected to witness someone get busted FOR SMOKING CRACK IN THE EAT N PARK BATHROOM!!!

Only in North carolina, I tell ya...
