Univ.of Southern California Hits $4 Billion Fundraising Milestone
USC has hit the four billion mark in one of the largest college fundraising campaigns. The university's goal is $6 billion by 2018. So far results of the funding included $500 million in new buildings, 77 new faculty chairs, increased faculty research, financial aid and scholarships added and recruitment of award winning faculty. A key priority has been to add to the university endowment.
The Council for Aid to Education reported USC was third in the nation for both fiscal 2013 and fiscal 2014 in donations. Only Harvard and Stanford raised more funds in both those years. Construction has begun on the Kaufman School of Dance complex, Marshall School of Business center and the $50 million dollar science/engineering building. Last year USC had nearly 52,000 applications for the freshman class. |
Campaign
The campaign has now passed the $4.5 billion mark. Keck School of Medicine has raised over $840 million dollars.

The campaign has now raised $4.6 billion. The largest contributor ever to the university is George Lucas. He has donated a whopping $317 million dollars to SC.
