How do I make myself UNATTRACTIVE to a guy?

We are having a winter dance next Friday. Without thinking, I told one of my guy friends that I don't have a date for the dance, a few days ago.
Today, that guy friend asked me could I be his date, I said yes. I was totally caught off guard.
Now, he is very cool, AS A FRIEND, but I have no interest otherwise. However, I've been hearing rumors for months that he is attracted to me.

I will go to the dance with him. But, I don't want to give him any signal whatsoever that I like him.

Ingore him. Not the whole time, thats rude, just enought to piss him off. Also, tell you him you have gohnarea.

Oh yeah, I've already told two other oraganizations I'm in that I will sit at their table. So I will not be with him the whole night.

Tell him that I have gonnerhea? LOL! That's too extreme and he'll probably tell all of his friends. Maybe I should tell him that I am lesbian.

Hee hee! Don't tell him your a lesbian. That will probably interest him more!

If you said he is a friend then you should be honest rather than playing games or give him the cold-shoulder. If he shows interest you could simply say, "I think you're nice/cool but I don't have those kinds of feelings for you" .

Yeah, that could ruin the relationship.

Don't give him any signals that you might like him. If he starts flirting with you, don't flirt back. But, if that doesn't work, you might want to start talking non-stop about the hottie pizza delivery boy that delivered you a pie the other day. ;)

this is bad but...if you really need the "big guns" ask him what kind of a girl he likes...then start naming girls that match that...then tell him what kind of guy you like, but describe someone different from him. Or maybe, just because he is atracted to you doesn't mean he'd date you. There are girls I'm atracted to that I would love to get it on with, but as far as seriously dating them, or holding a conversation, or acknowldeging their existance outside of the bedroom...never!!

I'd go with H2oot's advice -
Be upfront and honest.
As someone who has been on the other person's side, it can hurt your friend more if you lead them on or play upon their emotions. I liked this guy friend of mine but wasn't totally crushing...he caught wind of it and then avoided me for the longest time. Then when I went to ask him to go with me to Homecoming as friends he blew me off and caused me to cry.
Be a mature adult. Don't go making yourself unattractive because you should be flattered that a friend has taken notice in you. You never know, maybe things could work out...maybe not.
But be honest, sympathetic, and don't drag out the situation and tell all your other friends,"Oh my gosh can you believe he likes me ewww..." sorta thing.

i think you should tell him the truth, especially if you two are already friends. Do the right thing!

I think you should be straightforward with him. If he's your friend then he will understand. Don't play games or make him feel bad or hurt him..just be straight I mean put yourself in his shoes Would you want someone to be straight with you or be mean about it all??
