AGD mom sending twins to college

Yikes things have changed ....

Yes

I pledged in 1975.... My oldest went through recruitment in 1999 and the world had changed. I felt very comfortable as I was a Specialist New Chapter Development. Although I am still VST and have 4 daughters whom are sisters, today is very different! Good luck!

Looking forward to hearing about it, just as long as sequined
tights are not involved.

I pledged in the late 80's no recs had an unbelievable experience. Love my sorority sisters to this day. We regularly get together and all of our girls hear about how much fun we had. My daughters are really hoping for a similar experience. DD #1 is going to an SEC school and DD#2 is still deciding. DD#2 was admitted to a BIG 10 school but the rush really scares her and I don't blame her. Hopefully all the knowledge on this board will help us through, looking forward to it!

Welcome AGDmommy. What chapter were you initiated?

I'm excited to hear about the journey :)

I went to a small school in the midwest, loved it!

Not to be negative Nelly but you want to start right now (if you haven't already) explaining that legacy is no guarantee. Especially at huge schools like Mizzou and IU. What they want is the sisterhood, not necessarily YOURS. I think this can be especially difficult when you had and continue to have such a great sorority experience.

You wrong for that.

A suggestion: I would edit your post to remove your school and also possibly the schools of your daughters. Some parents will post with a vague "a school in the Big 10 and a school in the SEC." This gives enough information to know the type of recruitment, without giving too many specifics.

Twins, plus legacy organization, plus their schools, plus your school...at this point they would be identifiable.

Glad that you are here and look forward to hearing about their experiences.

Thanks for the tips on identifiers you are correct! My girls are not attached to my house just want the same type of experience that I am sure they can get in any house. DD1's school doesn't have an AGD chapter and DD2 hasn't decided where she is going just yet. I am working on getting a list for recs, will definitely need some southern help with the SEC schools. Hopefully you ladies will be able to help. So excited for them!!

I know and I am so sorry! But I just couldn't help myself.
