Rudeness in America today!!
OK guys you can help me with an essay LOL hmmm well I have to write about rudeness in America today basically and I can think of many places where there is much rudeness but what do you feel are the three main places you see it??? Road,Doctors office, stores, school, resturants?? I really appricaite your help guys!!

The top three on my list are:
The Road~ Last nite I was driving back down to campus and I had to get off the freeway and I was going way to fast to let this guy get in front of me and the guy behind me was following too close too, so I kept going and he starts honking at me and giving me the finger. He honks at me the whole way down the offramp and even on the main street. It was terrible, geez I mean he got off the 95 so I don't understand why he's pissed. Also just in general people cutting in front of you or going from lane to lane.. School~Actually any type of school! College, elementary, high school....College, I see people with their blinkers on to get a spot and someone comes from the other side and takes it. RUDE. And then people drive through campus like its a motor speedway. Also when I pick up my little sis from elementary school, the moms are soo rude there! So pushy, honking and yelling out the window. This one mom always flies by in her Neon. Whenever I see her coming I soo wish a cop is near. She's terrible. Stores~ At stores people can be rude by pushing your basket out of the way or pushing you to the side to get to a sales rack first or whatever. Also what really bugs me is when I only have like 2 items and the person in front of me has a whole cart load and she doesn't let me go...I always let the people with the smaller things go first, its only logical.. Toodles! |
Don Henley described it as living in a "graceless age" (Was the song called Forgiveness???)
I whole heartedly agree with ADPiSweety when she says "schools". I think kids in general (present company excluded) tend to be rather short with people, especially their own family. There aren't the same taboos about talking back to adults. Please remember, I said in general. There is a feeling of impatience which carries over into demeanor. The road-yes, road rage is very real. It's another example of impatience. In restaurants or places where people feel they need to exhibit some kind of "superiority" over another. It's an attitude of "Well, I'm PAYING for this!" or "I'm an IMPORTANT person, SERVE me!" At our club, the old goats treat the staff like they are invisible through things they say or demands they make. THIS is the ultimate display of rudeness in my opinion. I must admit, my burn comes in Doctors' offices when they triple book and I'm waiting for an HOUR for a 10 min. visit that costs an arm and a leg for one Rx... I think it all boils down to an overblown sense of self importance. |
The internet. Today I recieved some spam in my email, titled "I can c*m ten feet!"
Anywhere people are hungry, from restaurants to banquets. The road, as two people already mentioned. School, a breeding ground for rudeness. From both students and teachers. |
i definately have to agree with on the road..specifically when there is construction or just a general lane merge, which causes a traffic backup..so people will go down the lane until it merges with the other, essentially cutting in line while other patient people sit and wait their turn in traffic..do you cut in line at the grocery store or the movie theater? no, then what makes you think its okay to cut in line in traffic?

Definitely the road. I have been the victim of road rage and had to take the guy to court. (He got probation. Sigh.) For some reason, even a normally very polite and courteous person can become a raging animal when behind the wheel of a car... and look out if a normally angry person gets behind the wheel!

The road.
People do so many awful things to each other. It can turn a nice person into someone evil. Malls are pretty bad too. And, my school parking lot. People will run over a pedestrian just to get a parking space. |
The road.. I used to be a commuter (read:1 hour per way if no traffic, 2-4 hours per way if traffic) It's so funny, any kind of weather occurs, and people forget how to drive properly nad get mean. Sunny, Rainy, dawn, dusk, snow, hail, fog, perfectly fine. I'm going the same direction as you, and I want to be there just as fast as you do.
