Ole Miss Recruitment Question
 

My daughter will be going through recruitment in fall of 2015. We are not from Mississippi, but we live in the South. We are in the process of securing recs for each chapter. Realistically, how early should the recs be sent in?

Welcome to Ole Miss!! it is a bit early to actually send in recommendations; however, it is NOT too early for your daughter to start seeking out sorority alumnae that know her to write those recs. Ideally, it is best to send in recs during the Spring semester. You want to get on the sororities' radar before the girls go home for summer.

Please make sure your daughter's social media sites are squeeky clean. Waiting until summer is too late....and senior events this spring may offer many challenges to keep everything classy. (Not that your daughter is not classy but we all know things happen that may be impulsively posted by an 18 year old.)

hello, I am current active member of an Ole Miss sorority. right now would be way too early to send them in. we expect them to come around april/may. although, we have already started looking at girls and inviting them to come stay with girls they know so that the girls can meet more members of our sorority. I would encourage your daughter to contact girls that she knows in sororities at ole miss and see if she could come stay for spring parties or for a visit one weekend.
