They will either improve the series or utterly ruin it. Let's hope Disney does a better job than LucasFilms.

Be ready for an insane amount of lens flare.

With Abrams allegedly using a lot of practical effects and limited CGI, I hope it brings back the nostalgia of Eps. 4-6 (original editions).

that makes sense as that is how he shot the Star Trek movies. He made sets for them to work off of instead of constantly acting around a blue screen.

Loved the trailer. So excited!

ZetaPhi708.20 11-28-2014 09:39 PM

A buddy of mine stated today that this 88 second teaser is more Star Wars than the combined Eps. 1-3.

The Falcon. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Loop-de-loop.

I'm not going to get excited until I've seen the entire first movie. I am a big fan of Abrams' approach to the Star Trek movies. Those have been outstanding. Let's hope we can avoid the fart jokes and other kitsch which were so much a part of Lucas' later efforts.

But yes.. all of the lens flare.

I thought Jar Jar Binks already ruined it.

I loved—and still love—the original three movies. As far as i'm concerned, they should have stopped there.

Well, actually, they could have stopped before the Ewoks . . . .

I haven't seen the trailer, yet. Hopefully, it's on YT.

At 40 million views in over 5 days, yep, it's on YouTube.

^^^ Thanks for posting the trailer. Definitely a must see for me. There hasn't been a Star Wars movie that I didn't like. I hope this one is just as good or better than the others.

If I had to rank them officially:

1. THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK: EPISODE V
2. A NEW HOPE: EPISODE IV
3. REVENGE OF THE SITH: EPISODE III
4. RETURN OF THE JEDI: EPISODE VI
5. ATTACK OF THE CLONES: EPISODE II
6. THE PHANTOM MENACE: EPISODE I

Wow, I just realized that all 6 episodes (and the special editions of 4-6), I saw on 35mm film in their original release years; THE FORCE AWAKENS will be seen digitally. Wait, I did see THE PHANTOM MENACE in digital when 20th Century Fox released it a few years ago, for a planned 3d conversion for all 6 episodes, until Disney bought the rights from Lucas and started planning 7-9

We got in the above trailer this week, both 2d and 3d versions; so I think 7 will be in 3d and 2d.
