"all chapter activities of the Kappa Sigma, Tau Kappa Epsilon, and Pi Kappa Phi fraternities have been suspended. In addition, all new member and social activities have been suspended for the remaining chapters of the Interfraternity Council: Phi Gamma Delta and Sigma Phi Epsilon."

I'm not sure what this recent trend is, since this same thing is being discussed in another thread, about another school, to punish all groups, when certain ones have done wrong. I don't agree that that is the right way to handle things.

Of course, there may be more info, but, just because ABC does something stupid doesn't mean that every IFC chapter should have to pay the price for it and have their operations suspended as well...

PIKE is currently colonizing on campus, wonder how this will affect them.

A holding pattern on their colonization till the other suspensions are lifted?

Has this "punish them all" trend effected any NPC or NPHC GLOs, at any other universities?

Wer are our own worst enemies!

We profess no hazing and it still happens!

That is why states inact laws and schools get a hatred for Greeks. Yes Greek Alums donate more dollars, but crap weArs very thin.

Alumns need to step in and advise chapters we do not live by we did it so can you and put a stop to stupid childish things or be gone!

I agree that Alumni need to step in and advise chapter on the negative side of hazing and what damage it could do to the chapter(s) and the whole Greek Community. Unfortunately, many fraternity chapters have the attitude that "They are in Control" and rather do things their way and not listen to Alumni Advisors. Alumni Advisors can only do so much to help steer chapters in the right direction, but it is the overall chapters responsiblity to understand right and wrong and make better decision for the good of the chapter. As I always stated to my chapter that it is your reasponsibility to "Protect" the charter, just a generations of brothers have done. And if you put it into danager or lost it, then it's your own fault and now you have to explain the reason why to X# of Alumni.

I am not sure about recently, but even way back when I was in college, some HBCUs would place campus-wide moratoriums on intake for NPHC orgs. I am not sure if that impacted other orgs with a membership process like APO, KKPsi, TBS, etc.
