A sick sad story that needs to be a Lifetime movie ASAP.

It was already a Law & Order!!!

That L&O episode always creeps me out.

This struck me:

Is this caused by a specific mental illness?

It sure seems like it.

Returning to say that this article made me very sad.

Maybe its the other way around. I think the point is that perhaps she SAW the L&O episode & decided it looked like .... maybe an easy way out of taking care of her responsibilities?

Since the L&O episode is old at this point, that's a possibility.

I was amused when the article mentioned the 21 year old boyfriend thinking she was 18. In the show, the character gets hit with statutory rape charges because her boyfriends are under 18.
