....and any other organization that has a tradition of giving a "line name" to someone once they have crossed....

If it's not private information, can you tell me if your organization monitors duplicate line names on a national level? Meaning, if someone cross in a chapter in California and is given the line name Soror XYZ and another crosses in a chapter on the east coast, can she also have the line name Soror XYZ, or does your national organization mandate that no 2 sorors in the whole organization can have the same line name, despite the fact that they aren't on the same line from the same chapter?

In my org and several like it (and I suspect most others), line names are unofficial and aren't even on I/HQ's radar. Think NPC family trees -- they're "cutesy" things done within the chapters/organization but no one is going to lose sleep if 2 "Buttercup Family" trees pop up in the nation.

I am familiar with some organizations (NALFO and NMGC) that do monitor. For those orgs, it is important to not have duplicates.
