3:20AM. Yep, felt it here in SF. All is well in SF but Napa has sustained damage. 6.0/6.1 No reports of injuries (thank goodness) but fires at a mobile home park. http://www.sfgate.com/bayarea/articl...y-5708791.php? (08-24) 07:03 PDT NAPA -- A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Napa County early Sunday, injuring dozens of people, sparking a fire at a mobile home park in Napa and causing extensive damage to buildings in and around downtown Napa, authorities said. The quake, the largest in the Bay Area since the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989, struck 3 miles northwest of American Canyon at 3:20 a.m., the U.S. Geological Survey said. It was felt as far away as Chico and Fresno, the USGS said. The tremor was followed by several aftershocks, the largest of which was a magnitude 3.6 that struck 5 miles southwest of Napa at 5:47 a.m. |
Trying to reach my friends in St. Helena, but it's a little early to call. And I read that power lines in Western CC County went down. Hmmm. You okay, NP? I imagine it woke you up!

Definitely felt it here in the East Bay.

My mom said it woke up her because the mirrored doors of her closet were rattling for almost a full 20 seconds. I was in the guest room and slept straight through it. :o
