Rushing as a transfer junior...do I have a chance?!?

I am going to attend an university where Greeklife is a big part of the university and I would really like to take part in it. I want to rush for a fraternity and ultimately get a bid so I can be part of their brotherhood and traditions. But I am transferring into this university with 57 credits so I will be a junior this semester. I know that most fraternity here wants the majority of their rush to be freshmen and a few sophomores(I came to this conclusion from reading tons of other forum and blog posts). So should I bother rushing? And is there a chance for me because I don't want to waste my time if there is absolutely no chance for me and become a laughing stock?!?

I also really want to be a part of the top/middle tier fraternity and I will be attending IU.

Open your freaking mind and stop using asinine terms like "top/middle tier." Don't worry, you'll get laid no matter what chapter you're in if you're not a complete a-hole or Elephant Man.

Things I didn't know before moving to Indiana: IU is known as being really female-heavy. It's actually not that skewed, but the perception is out there that if you are a young man, that's the place to go get laid.
