Sisters Online?
 

Hey sisters!

As regular computer/web/GC junkies like me, I was wondering if I could get a quick poll from you all?

I'm working with the web team at HQ on the re-design of Sisters Online. We are developing a "myAOII" section that will be more fun stuff that officer resources etc. (that's going to be a separate area)

What I would like to know is what 'fun things' would you like to see that would have YOU coming back regularly? (Note - the bulletin boards will be more obvious!)

I don't know if it's possible, but could the online directory be expanded to include everyone and not just the sisters that have registered online? I know I have personally lost touch with some sisters I would like to talk to again, but they have not registered.

Make it easier to find online who are rush chairs and rush advisors for chapters. I know I will be at work and want to get the name of a rush chair to send a rec to and I can NEVER find it. I know its in To Dragma, but if it was online, that would be so much easier. Ooooooo--if we could even do our rec on line, that would ROCK!!

Songbook maybe with some midis for the tunes
Updated network news section - the type of stuff that is not confidential like in Alpha Link

Can parts of BRIDGES be put on there too?
Distinguished Alumnae - I know the policy on this but we do have the Notables section on the public side. I would like to know some notables from before 1999.

Yes I will be at LI with bells on :)

As for the MIF info - it's there right now - when you log into Sisters Online BEFORE you click the Alphalink - just look slighty above ... the second button link says "Addresses to send MIF Form". Just click and go - all the addresses listed go to the chapter address. :)

We have already identified this and it will be a more obvious place as well as links from other places too, so it doesn't get lost!!

Thanks Shala. I also agree with aopirose distinguished alumnae would be great. I know the policy too, but frankly sometimes I feel like an idiot b/c I don't know who a lot of them are...

aoiirose, you've got some great suggestions! I really like the trivia and updated news section ideas. As a Rose Member, sometimes it takes a while to find out what's going on and being able to find what's new on the private site is wonderful.

Something that really bothers me, as a user, is having to hunt for the various boards in Sisters Online. It would be great to have a page that lists them all, instead of having to hunt through all the links to find the current recruitment results, alumnae news and general chatter. The more sister (and user!) friendly, the more traffic and use we'll see with the site.

Are there any plans to bring back the Alpha Chat or another private chat area in Sisters Online? I'd love a chance to chat with other AOIIs!

I've read that there's someone who is going to HQ to work in the archives who posts here? It would be great to have an Online Archives area as well, with photos and information. What a wonderful way to further embrace our shining history.

In the midst of today's GC insanity, I'm bumping this thread as it contains my first ever post on GC.

You and I MUST be sisters as we seem to take sisters' suggestions to heart (aopirose and posting, silver and DAR, etc). LOL

I have absolutely NO doubt about that!

And I VERY thankful to have you for a sister! Now, we just need figure out a way to see each other more often!! I'm definitely thinking some spa time next summer at Convention (yes, I WILL be there if I have to put off doing the roof on my garage to get there!!)

AOIIAlum, Beryana, Silver and SilverMom walk into the spa en force...frightening the mere mortals without super AOII powers. What do you say AOIIGal, NeonPi, Glitter...We could meld our AOII wonder powers into one frightening mess! HHHmmm...We could all get matching capes and drink sweet tea.

I still say, "Bless her heart" to the WONDERFUL sister who randomly got placed into the room with Beryana, SilverMom, and me at LI. ;)

Personally, I would be SCARED to see all of us show up in one place at the same time!!

I really don't think we scared her too bad - though I'm sure you all weren't too happy when my phone rang at 5am with crew scheduling trying to see if I were interesting in picking up some flights (I know that I wasn't!!). We'll just have to plan better for Convention - and not traumatize any more people than necessary! ;) That's also why I can't make it to state conference - I don't think they are ready for all of us yet! LOL Though there will be a bunch of us having fun at WI state conference (we are drinking Scotch and discussing our love of certain Scottish fictional characters!)
