New to Greekchat with a new thread idea!

Hi all!

I'm an active from the Southeast who goes to school at the beautiful University of Michigan! I'm a proud Sigma Kappa and have been stalking Greekchat for some time now, and figured now was a good time to join and introduce myself!

Anyway, I had an idea for a new thread: where do you want to see your organization? Whether they were previously there or brand new to the school. I'll start: I would absolutely love to see Sigma Kappa back at Florida State University, the University of Alabama, and the Ohio State University!

Welcome to GC from a fellow Big Ten SK! There is a similar thread in the SK section, I believe. Or one of the threads derailed into that! :-) And I get my chapter back in January/February 2016!!

Thanks, IndianaSigKap! I'm still trying to navigate everything, so I'll keep my eyes out for that thread!

I think, too, that people sometimes mention their dream expansions in our "2014/2015 Colonies/Expansions/Charters/Closures" thread:

That thread is always a good read!

Welcome to GC! My next door neighbor is a Sigma Kappa from the University of Michigan. Small internet, isn't it? :)

Fantasy: Colby reinstates Greek Life and we get Alpha back!

All the single letter chapters: Syracuse, Univ. of Denver, Brown, Middlebury (also requires a miracle resurrection of Greek Life), Tufts, Stanford, Randolph College (formerly Randolph Macon Women's College, also requiring a resurrection), SMU, OSU, UW-Madison, and FSU.

I'd also love to see: Univ of Oregon, Duke, Univ. of South Carolina, UCSB, SDSU, TX Tech, Kentucky, and Pepperdine.

:)

I'm a UM grad--many of my dear friends were Sigma Kappas--and would love to have SK at UW-Madison! (Go Blue!)

I have a rather extensive wish list for SAI chapters, both of chapters we once had and chapters we've never had but that I'd like for us to have.

Old (in as close to chronological order of original chartering as I can get): Sigma Kappa @ Wyoming, Sigma Xi @ UCLA, Sigma Tau @ USC (California), Alpha Delta @ Wittenberg College, Alpha Theta @ Columbia*, Alpha Tau @ Carthage*, Iota Epsilon @ IU, Beta Tau @ NYU, Gamma Beta @ Stanford, Gamma Mu @ Arizona State, Gamma Sigma @ Union University, Delta Xi @ Pacific University*, Epsilon Nu @ Hawaii-Monoa, Epsilon Tau @ University of Arkansas-Little Rock, Zeta Xi @ Berry College, Eta Gamma @ University of West Georgia, Eta Chi @ SIU-Edwardsville, Theta Phi @ University of North Florida, Kappa Theta @ UNLV, Kappa Omicron @ Texas Southern

(The three with a * are listed as closed on our national website as opposed to inactive like the rest—I'm not entirely sure as to what exactly causes them to be considered closed instead of inactive, actually.)

New: Baylor, California-Berkley, Clemson, Concordia College, Duke, FGCU, Georgia Tech, University of Louisville, UNC-Asheville, UNC-Charlotte, Shorter College, SMU, St. Olaf College, Texas A&M, TCU, University of Washington, Washington State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, University of West Alabama

I told y'all it was a long list, lol.

WOW! That is awesome and just put a smile at my face at work :D wonder if she's a close friend of mine! PS. My best friend is an AEPhi at another school!

I would love for Colby to bring back Greek life, but I doubt that will happen :(

I've been hearing that Alabama is super full and will mow likely be expanding soon--SK seems like a possibility!

Sigma Kappa has so much on the books for the next two years, I would be really surprised if we were interested. Quite honestly with all of the drama and media attention that has surrounded Alabama the past few years, I really hope we take a pass until things have died down. I think it's a great campus, but I'd like for things to settle down.

I'd rather not return to Syracuse and Tufts... at least for a long long while. Don't know much about some of the other schools on the list.

Why's that, Sigmagirl?

Oregon is coming back. It was announced via social media in early June and at convention.
