Just heard. I'm in shock but not very surprised about the suicide rumor.

So true. This is such a tragedy.

DrPhil 08-11-2014 07:24 PM

This really bothers me.

I am so sad to hear this. O Captain my Captain... he was troubled. I remember reading many years ago that he was bipolar and that it was difficult to work with him because he improvised so much they couldn't follow their scripts. The resulting works were genius though. Definitely one of my faves. FisherKing, The Dead Poets Society, Mrs. Doubtfire, Mork & Mindy (dating myself there). So many incredible movies. This is the saddest I've ever been to hear about a celebrity's passing.

Exactly. I'm so sad to hear this. He was always entertaining.

Co-sign, Mrs. AGDee.

Over on Twitter, even the parody accounts that are not bots, are honoring Mr. Williams.

Can anyone confirm if he was a fraternity man? One of the LXA chapters I follow on Twitter stated that he was a Sigma Nu but I can't find official confirmation of this.

Here's his Oscar win for Good Will Hunting:

I'm completely devastated. I loved Robin Williams' wonderful ability to launch into a character, into a mad ad lib that caused us all to laugh hysterically. I'm a little worried about my DH, who was often mistaken for a younger Robin Williams in years gone by, even being asked for his autograph.

My personal favorites (at least, today) were The Bird Cage, and The Dead Poet Society. Such a tragic day.
