New and a transfer student

Hi! I have just joined GreekChat but I have been searching on the boards all night for some advice as rushing as a junior year transfer. I have found some very helpful tips such as, "you'll never know if you don't try", how sororities have a certain amount of numbers they must maintain, ect. But if I am going to a large, competitive school such as Florida State, how are my chances as a community college transfer my junior year? I just recently decided I would rush in the fall of 2015 once I transfer as a result of deciding not to tryout for the cheerleading team for personal reasons therefore resulting in more free time for new and exciting experiences! I don't know too many people in the Greek life at FSU and can only say I'm "friends" with one or two girls so the connections aren't really there. I feel as if I would have as much potential as a Freshman but don't more upper-classman have more connections and experience? My current school isn't anywhere near Tallahassee and I only really have "people I know from high school but don't ever talk to" to say that I "know".

Any advice from anyone at FSU or like a school with Greek life like FSU?

*And yes I already searched just about every post about juniors rushing on here and none of them could relate exactly to my situation* :D

Thanks y'all!
