...were not "Greek distinctive" letters
(Not sure if this belongs here or Greek History)
I was reading the wikipedia page for Delta Sigma Theta and noticed the following phrase in description of the conflict for those who split from Alpha Kappa Alpha Quote:
The NPHC has only one (the previously mentioned AKA), The NPC has only one (ZTA) and the NIC has six (AXP, KAOrder, KASociety, NAK, TKE and ZBT) Has anyone seen any particular effects (other than apparently being part of DST's founding) from a lack of a "Greek Distinctive" letter? |
When girls were running around with those EXP sweatshirts on, I had to look twice to make sure they weren't AXP little sisters. LOL

The underground fraternity EI (Epsilon Iota) at American University looked extra corny when Nelly's song "E.I." came out.
|
Would you also include Fiji (when not using their letters), Triangle, and Acacia to that list? I mean, they are spelled out words. Would that count?

As a ZTA I have never felt that I or any of my sisters suffered because of our letters.
|
On my campus, I heard this a lot from both affiliated and unaffiliated women about ZTA. As stated above ^^^, non of the actual MEMBERS had a problem with their letters! One ZTA friend of mine actually said that it was easy to find iron-on letters (back in the day) because they were "regular" letters!! She thought it was a plus in favor of ZTA!
